Director, curator, producer, facilitator.
I make live art that is interdisciplinary, immersive and meaningful. From a family of explorers, philosophers, artists, entrepreneurs and pioneers, I share a wild curiosity for what’s at the edge and am endlessly inspired to experiment.
A central idea in my work over the past five years has been an investigation into alternative futures for live music, as universal connector to each other, our inner self and the natural environment.
This fascination along with a willingness to take risks has seen the manifestation of three editions in my body of work Swell, each in never before used locations. Described as a ‘utopian musical madhouse’, a fourth in this Swell series is soon to come inside the iconic Espy hotel where I have also been commissioned to develop the inaugural artistic program. Other related works include A Note From The Future Of Live Music and a yet-to-be-named Live Music Sculpture Under The Sea, which I spent time creatively developing during my Artist Residency at historic Police Point this year.
Many people seek to work with like minds. I seek out like souls. I have collaborated with over 50 genre diverse music makers including Edd Fisher, Albrecht La Brooy, The General Assembly, Larissa Tandy, Broadway Sounds, Kirkis and Alice Skye and many more creators across art forms and cultures including architect Brooks Atwood, sound artists Bryce and Marlon Grunden, meditation teacher Jonni Pollard, dancers Deep Soulful Sweats and performer Maurial Spearim.
I am blessed to have received backing for my independent work by the likes of Creative Victoria, City of Melbourne and ACMI and attracted over ninety pieces of media including in The Age, Broadsheet and ABC TV.
In addition, I consult to brands and organisations enabling original and adventurous experiences to come to life in commercial contexts. I regularly facilitate visioning, strategy and innovation workshops, and am an experienced Non Executive Director having spent nine years enabling the next generation of new art as Chair of Next Wave.
My insatiable wanderlust has taken me from my hometown in Australia to far-flung corners of the globe. I live in nature, by the ocean. Because in the end, what else is there?
