DEEP SOUND
Site-specific sound sculpture by Janenne Willis
Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary, Flinders
Saturday 24 January 2026, 8:30am - 12:30pm
Deep Sound is a spatial and tonal listening experience that explores more-than-human communication. Blending live hydrophone feeds, spoken word and electroacoustic composition, the work invites deep attention to the musicality and meaning carried through ocean sound.
Come and go freely from the ocean-side listening experience throughout the morning. Or pre-book the in-ocean experience. Registrations for the in-ocean experience are very limited and will open at 10.00am on Monday 5 January. Subscribers to the Deep See Survey email list will receive the link to register.
Deep Sound is the fourth and final live show in the 25/26 Deep See Survey season. Until then, Deep Sound (Prelude) is now showing as part of the 25/26 Deep See Survey Group Show at 87 Byrnes Road, Shoreham.
Deep Sound is supported by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. It is an outdoor, weather-dependent show. We’ll play in most conditions, with safety-led adjustments if needed. Updates will be shared via the Deep See Survey website, along with accessibility and location information.
